Further Examinations of Disturbing Behaviors...



Warning: I have been told that this article was a bit long... So I'm going to fix it by making it longer. Simply put this article is an examination of a pattern of behavior stalking, slander and harassment as tools to disrupt business practices for those outside of the Bujinkan & Paladin Press. This is the same behavior which lead to Dan Harmon taking his life. Here you will see evidence that Phil Elmore, Barron Shepherd and Don Roley are biased. That Phil Elmore used the troll account Raymond Locktools & with Barron Shepherd attempted to set me up to be arrested. You will see proof that Barron Shepherd lied about Chris Smith calling him and needing an MRI to compete in Ruckus in the Cage. And you will see a pattern of harassment and stalking from Phil Elmore going back Years, even over a decade... Read at your own risk this is lengthily.
So after addressing Phil Elmore's involvement with Paladin Press and Paladin Press association with Soldier of Fortune. The unethical business practices of slandering people for money and hired "publicity hitmen" like Elmore to slander and harass those who are business competition or otherwise represent opposition to Omega Publishing Group... Such as Ashida Kim who left Paladin and sued them, only losing the law suit due to the fact that the theft of his works occurred outside the USA and Frank Dux who sued Paladin and won for slander and liable. In any event, the Blog Stalking & Harassment 3 drew the attention of one such stalker who quite simply does  not want anyone to know he is stalking me... Philip Carton Elmore, the Martialist.





He says he doesn't harass me or stalk me online but lets examine that shall we...

Well there are all the players Phil Elmore, Patrick Ferrari, Barron "Bitch Tits" Shepherd and some of their troll accounts of cohorts... its really hard to tell which sometimes. So many troll accounts online and so many voices in their heads.



Of course this is only the tip of the Iceberg, Phil's harassment has gone back quite a while...  Fat Phil Failure has a long history with me... And as you can see in his own words, he stalks and harasses me.

But Phil doesn't just follow me around online trying to slander my name with half truths... He harasses others who associate with me. He did this years ago to Dan Bowen, an amateur actor and martial artists who supported some of my concepts and ideas. This resulted in Dan challenging Phil and then Phil using CPS (called on Dan by Phil) to get Dan to back out.... He also went after the "mysterious Jay" who guest blogged for me.



And 3 days ago I get a text from Phil demanding to know what I want... What I had was a very interesting conversation highlighting just how mentally disturbed Phil is. Take a look yourself. Even before that he was stalking be across facebook.

Here he is again stalking me around Facebook groups. Groups using the name Koga Ryu to harass and slander other who claim a Koga Ryu Ninjutsu lineage.

 What do I want? Nothing... There is nothing you can do to make me not talk about unethical business practices from a stalker and his merry boy band of fat bald guys who have not a single female friend. I'm not saying you all are gay... but, it is a sausage fest at Tug Hill Studios.

So I had to come up with something... So I figured I'd launch an outrageous list of demands and use it as a pretext for exposing Philip's bias by talking with the weirdo. Ultimately the last demand came true, he "fucked off." That should show how little I cared my list of demands included the demand that he go away, thus phrased as "fuck off." So under the guise of wanting something I decided to see what I could confront him with and see what he would deny... Seems Phil doesn't take Criticism well.

 Here is were the denial begins...

 Here is were Phil tries to justify his lies... Yes, I was hospitalized based on false pretenses by Raleigh County Prosecutor Kristen Keller. I explain all that later but its easy to see Phil was trying to back out the conversation...

 Here Phil throws the massive conspiracy line... I love that one, I really do. Of course certain conspiracy theories have been proven true like Chemtrails and Heart Attack guns. And Phil Elmore cyber stalking me.

 Here I directly confront Phil's knowledge and access to court information... Now Phil has made the claim that the "Terrorist Threats Charge" against me was dismissed because I was sent to Sharpe's this is a violation of West Virginia Code. I even confront Phil with these facts later on.

 Here I point out to Phil that I have already made court papers proving that Keller lied public record. This color's any arrest warrant acquired in Raleigh County with a question of authority, specifically a lack there of taken under color of law. My whole "Terrorist Threats" argument was based on the case law argument of Bad Elf V United States and Mapp V. Ohio which I got confused with Brady v Maryland and called it Brady v Ohio. Basically the only way to prove I made a "terrorist threat" was to get me to admit I made a "terrorist threat" and that would require violating my 5th Amendment Rights. So Keller lied to Dr. Miller to have me sent to Sharpe's.

I was hoping to create a forum to argue my right to self-defense against illegal activit taken under color of law and instead got written proof of evidence of illegal activity take under color of law. It basically removes any such claim of lawful authority requires more then "probable cause."

 Here Phil is trying to pad the argument make his accusations seem to be based on some fact... It's quite pointless...

And here is why it is pointless, here I linked the page were I produced the evidence showing Barron was a liar. The same claims made by fat Phil as a matter of fact and here Phil seeks to change the subject. Now he begins to blame me for putting myself out there and honestly, showing the facts and court records to anyone who wants to see them...  Here Phil is deflecting trying to get me to defend my skills and well, I don't care... I want him to deal with facts, facts he makes false statements about? Here he denies slander and harassment but we can simply look about and see where he has admitted to stalking me, harassed people I am associated with going over their heads with lies about convictions. And yet, I am all to blame for putting out the facts... for being open and honest about charges and convicts? But... I just wanted him to be confronted with the truth the facts and watch him deny and divert from it.

 Again I confront him about the facts... I was a Hand-to-Hand Combat Instructor in the US Army, awarded for this as well, I might add. Perhaps its not lack of skill but lack of association that Mr. Failmore doesn't like...

 I didn't bother to argue with him, but we all knw this about him... About his distaste for being criticzed and his fear of being called out as fraud, an idiot and a never was... Like I pointed out to him, I confronted Phil with facts, facts Phil tried to deflect and dissuade me from addressing but really didn't deny them.

What do they call that personality disorder... Antisocial and/or Narcissistic? Certainly Phil is not willing to examine the produced facts so I decided to confront him with them instead...

 First the Arrest Warrant for Terrorist Threats, then the psychological evaluation... After Phil tells me how it does matter what I think. Of course he's right & I even state this but here is the Arrest Warrant.

Relevant facts are the Case Number 13F-1026 & the Date of the Alleged Offense 16 to 22nd August 2013... These dates are very important because they do not match up with the Psychological Evaluation.

 Here I point out that the Psychological Evaluation has a offense date of February 25th 2011... Surely this is different evaluation?

 Oh... No... Evaluation Date February 20th 2014 and there is a case number for 13F-1026 set aside a bunch of other case numbers, all previous cases brought against me and dismissed or where I was found not guilty at trial.

 Here Phil tries to convince me these discrepancies are all a figment of my imagination. Telling how I am such a loser. You'd think if I stand being drugged and psychologically abused by people with a psychiatric degree for six months all trying to get me to admit that I intended a hypothetical legal argument (though rather graphic as it were) to get a false confession from me and not crack under that pressure, that some fact keyboard commando telling me how pathetic I am isn't going to work either. Course Phil isn't that smart...

And here I tell Phil it doesn't matter what I think, it matters what I can prove and I can prove there is a massive hole in the evidence put forth by the state in violation of West Virginia Code 27-6A-2(b). Now thanks to Phil, I can prove stalking and a particular bias to ignore facts to support his own rhetoric and lies... This was the basis for my whole engagement with Phil.

The fact is whether you like me or hate, whether you think I am legitimate or a fraud, whether you support me or not doesn't matter. The facts, are simply this... I can and do openly show evidence related to my case, now dismissed (without a reason) that Raleigh County Prosecutor Kristen Keller fabricated evidence to in my Terrorist Threats Case. A case which was the result of me addressing previous unethical activity by the West Virginia State Police; Troopers Duckworth, Efrid, Palmateer and Lt. Deeds... All going back to criminal conspiracy and organized crime.

You don't have to believe any of that however... You have only just now been confronted with the fact that Keller lied to send me to Sharpe's and that Phil Elmore is denying the existence of facts presented to him, to excuse his stalking and liable as a paid mudslinger for Paladin Press.

 Here Phil is denying stalking me... We've already seen evidence above that is not true... And he says I don't like Criticism... Funny I thought this whole text thread was about him not liking me being critical of him. Again I confront him with facts...

 Think about what I just sent Phil... What I think doesn't matter, what matter is the Dates are wrong for the same case. How can a Psychologist know whether or not you can grasp the reality when they don't even know what reality is? That is a fact, you can believe what you like about why, the fact is Dr. Miller didn't read the paperwork or intentionally overlooked a discrepancy for his own reasons.

 Bah... Bah... Bah... deflection away from the subject to not deal with established and proven facts...

 Now I find this funny Phil was using the troll account MRaymond Locktools (We'll get into this a bit more) to try and set me up with Barron Shepherd which lead to the whole, Ruckus in the Cage event where Barron didn't show. Here he mentions me going back to jail... lol

 So when I confront Phil about how Paladin put more effort into supporting Ashida Kim then him and how I have a better proven record as a martial arts instructor, including teaching hand-to-hand combat in the Army... He talks about how I write blogs about him. Funny... If he hadn't been stalking me for years and using multiple troll accounts after I repeatedly blocked him on face book.

Here is were once again we will discuss Raymond Locktools who tried to set me up with an unsanctioned fight with Barry "Bitch titties" Shepherd this was covered in my Blog Paper Tigers & Ducking Dragons 3 where you can read the whole conversation... However, notice Phil's comments about being impoverished like my heroes? Seems eerily similar to Locktools (sounds like some covert homosexual term for "Docking" doesn't) comments...



But if you followed Phil's rhetoric you'll see he relies on the same platform for his arguments... Denying facts, saying I am my own worse enemy and saying I will end up like my Heroes Ashida Kim & Frank Dux... Given Phil's previously mentioned stalking behavior its not hard to see where there is a high probablility that Phil & Barry tried to set me as a team effort. So Thank you Philip... you have further linked yourself to Barron & Don Roley. Which also gets into why Phil won't denounce their lies as lies.

 Oh here is Ashida Kim getting an induction into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Do you have one of those? You know what would be funny is if you do and everyone laughs at you because like Paladin Press Ashida Kim was there first.

 Frank Dux & Stephen Hayes... Hmmm... Two of the pioneers of Ninjutsu in America together.

 Frank Dux has a new trophy and is in another Hall of Fame...

And Frank Dux was admitted into the World MMA Council, another Hall of Fame and award credited to his name. Tell me again how getting Paladin Press to publish you is an accomplishment, I mean they convinced a house wife to turn a crime novel into a how-to manual for "Hit Men." That's not a credible publisher...

If nothing else take this to heart... Life isn't about what you have but what you leave behind. I'm not looking to leave behind a legacy so that other people will know who I was. I want leave this world knowing I did things others won't because they will not try. I want live a fun, full life and look back on the good and bad times knowing I would not change a thing. Money cannot buy that...

Phil seems a bit bitter here that I don't find my life tragic and so painfully unbearable. Or, perhaps that I called the reason he is so bitter himself, trying to fill emotional voids with stuff and food.



And as you can tell Phil goes into his delusional rantings about how I must "hate & fear" him. Because I would never mention him as a stalker for I don't know, cyber stalking me... Its not hard to view Philip as a bit, unstable. So in wrapping this up, allow me to just show were the Phil Elmore refuses to leave me alone. Thus making this Blog necessary to show that Phil Elmore, Don Roley & Barron Shepherd are all associated and work to slander others to progress their own failed and non-existent accomplishments.

Here comes Phil Elmore's threats to slander me... Which is funny because I we have already seen I have his attention. The fact is, Phil  just doesn't want anyone to know he isn't an objective writer who reviews martial arts material. He is a paid advertisement and detractor of competing products for Paladin Press.

Phil opened with asking for my demands, he wanted me to want something from him so he could say everything I said was an attack to "extort" him or some such garbage. Hence my demand to just "fuck off" and I know we covered this... Here I treat this as if it truly was a personal matter, in some ways it is a personal matter because I fight back against these harassers and trolls but, there is a business interest involved as well. So if it were a personal matter for each of us to walk away (a gentleman's agreement) it would be no issue. Phil won't do this because to do so is to lose monetary support...

 So h

 Here I confront Phil with the fact he refuses to agree to stop and go away...

 Phil says he isn't stalking, that no one is stalking me but, anyone who reads this would know otherwise... He has been stalking me for years.

So here Phil declares he's not stalking me and my responding to him to tell him to never contact me again is proof he isn't stalking me. Except for the evidence above.

Here is the thing Phil, you have repeatedly stalked me, lied on me & used troll accounts to communicate with me and stalked me more... You are a liar and very creepy person... I only communicated you with so that I could get further evidence of your mental instability and prove your bias. The fact, that revealed yourself as Raymond Locktools who is also from Rochester NY, is priceless...



And I already proved your claim here from Paper Tigers & Ducking Dragons 3, to be false as well... See here is a recap for you Phil under West Virginia Code 29-5A-18 seriously if you ladies are going to make up lies at least do some research and make up some good one's. Physicals occur at the weigh-in, as per West Virginia Code before the fight and age is not a factor.

Barron bitched out and you two girls tried to set me up, course you didn't use your real name did Philip... Phil, if you would just back the fuck up and leave me alone you wouldn't get mentioned. You wouldn't get put on blast like this for being such a weirdo. What is worse is that while Ashida Kim is recovering for the publicity hits he's taken well... You are digging yourself a deeper and deeper hole of unethical behavior and childishness that neither makes you seem less then sane or competent. I am by no means perfect and I work on myself every day. A Prisoner in a World of Specialists

I have to thank two people here, one is my liberal tree hugging socialist leaning liberal buddy and the hippy tree hugging socialist leaning liberal who wrote this... No, in all seriousness the image of a world of artificial order of our claimed advanced society was brought to me by a liberal friend of mine and to be quite honest we agree on the "What's Wrong" one-hundred percent but, we don't always agree on the solutions.



So my liberal buddy posts on facebook this article by a well known feminist, environmentalist and liberal thinker. Now I was curious (Lets see what insanity liberals have come up with today) and I'm reading and thinking "Shit she's right..."



Now in AA they tell you to rely on the "God of Your Understanding" and I support this concept for a lot of political issues. Environmentalism for example is simple... I think Climate Change is bunk, but I don't think dumping toxic waste in our air and water, destroying eco-systems, all that other stuff that gets washed aside should because it is more important then the "Global Ice Age" of my parents age (the 70s), Global Warming of my childhood (the 80s & 90s) or the "Climate Change" of now. The "environmentalism of my understanding" is simply to not shit were you eat... i.e. don't poison yourself by poisoning the food, air and water you need to live. So I read this with a sarcastic but open mind.



We live a structured machine of society(artificial social order) all the while trying to call it order, civilization and society. We do so at the risk of the natural order of the world. Lets be clear when I say, natural order I mean natural bio-mechanical and biological order of the world. Our social construct of a society were everyone is specialized in their task is a prison for the mind and is killing our humanity. Our food is grown by specialists (not ourselves), are healthcare is maintained by specialist doctors (not ourselves) and specialist advisers to our carrier politicians (who specialize in politics) making laws about which herbs and plants are "legal" for our own good, we are protected by specialists (police and the military), our cars are fixed by specialists and we all most likely have a job where we specialize in a single task...

Human relevance and life has been reduced to an "Assembly Line" philosophy of you do this and I do that... The whole of human growth and existence has been reduced to the life of an insect. Insects specialize, animals specialize but humans... God forbidden no... And we call it progress and civilization. Perhaps we should add a new crime, becoming civilized. Of course people demand Universal Healthcare... Their own ability to take care of themselves has been reduced to stance of "a child asking Mommy for Band-Aid for a Boo Boo." They are not taught to care for themselves they are taught to depend on some "Specialist."


Nor can we live as we are able or desire, are homes by size and function must be zoned, constructed and regulated by specialists of different levels. In essence, the growth of human existence has been cut off with dependency on a system of so called "experts" starting with our "expert" career politicians who decide what is "legal" (a code word for what is right) and tell when and how we can grow our own food, what food is proper to be grown or why, how and against whom we can defend ourselves.

I present you with a choice... One only you can make, Do or Do Not. What you read, what think, how you think and why you think is all on you... but what you do with it is a different story, either you act or you don't act on it... Allow me to present to you the Universal Healthcare of the Free Man (Women if you like...), allow me to Present to you the Mechanic, the Engineer and Preacher of the Human Condition. Yourself...

Your choices presented are Do or Do Not. More Specifically, Do for yourself or Do Not. If you Do for yourself here is what you will need to know... A bit of everything. Medical Herbs and Martial (Fighting) Arts is a start, so is basic automotive repair, wiring, carpentry and plumbing. Grow your own food, produce your own power, tend your own wounds and be free from a life of dependency on a bunch of Specialists, who are unable to function without the Specialist they depend on.

I don't have kids but, I have friends who do and I was a team leader in the Army. The simple truth, your kids live by your example... What example are you setting for them? Willing slavery because you don't invest in yourself...

Most of us know the Sheep, Sheep Dog and Wolf metaphor from Grossman. It is a disguise of the roles of victim, hero and villain. I HATE IT... And all the people calling themselves "Civilian Sheepdogs" are idiots, morons, keyboard commandos and fantasy camp professionals (did that just piss you off, good and here is why...). In Grossman's analogy we are either Sheep (Victims) who depend on Sheepdogs (Heroes) or Wolves (Villains). Problem is the Sheep are only protected by the Sheepdogs so the Shepherd (Government ran by Politicians, another class of Specialists) can fleece us (tax us) and asking the Shepherd to give us more anything means we loose more wool. And yes... Wolves do eat Sheep (Criminals do victimize Civilians) but so does the Shepherd and Sheepdog feed from his table scraps (Police paid for by taxes taken by the Politicians).

Wolves don't need to eat sheep... Not every criminal is violent out to harm you type of person. Some wolves prefer rabbit, squirrel and deer. The enjoy deep dark woods the Sheep would never go, they have their own teeth to protect themselves, they have their own fur to keep them warm and life isn't easy but it is the freedom to exist as they wish on their own terms. There are dangers in the deep dark woods, but they know them... Nice thought but were does this fit into the Grossman Analogy, right?

It fits in here... Moonshiners, Drug dealers, Black Marketers and People who work under the table (Don't pay taxes, like Al Sharpton). Wolves do what they do to survive, they are a bit off the beaten path and the fringe types. These are people who just want to be free, new age hippies and violent criminals a like. Some people want to grow their own food, live in a hippy commune and just "be cool." Some people just want to watch the world burn, I won't deny it or justify it.


Yes, some Wolves are Villains, they victimize the Sheep. The problem is the animal we identify with or are identified by in the big pasture of Government Labels, is not up to us but to the Shepherd with his pack of Sheepdogs. You see most of you wouldn't think it matters too much of a drug dealer has issues with the police? What about people who home school their kids? Don't want their kids to eat GMO foods or take vaccines that are linked to birth defects and mental illness? A couple who wants to live off the grid with solar and wind for power and collect rainwater as opposed to buying chemically treated water?


Ha those are wolves to because they don't want to fit into that little pin of perpetual victimhood. And if you think you are Civilian Sheepdog who isn't going to depend on his Sheepdogs for protection, well guess what you are wolf too... Because in this system, we are all either Prisoners to a system of Specialists... dependent on someone else to do the task we could do ourselves Sheep waiting to be fleeced (and to some degree that includes the sheep dogs) or we are Wolves doing for ourselves. Worker Ants each with our task on the Assembly line of Society or thinking men and women who invest in themselves to take care of themselves...


We all face one threat, within our own minds... To be a prisoner of a World of Specialists or be free but, freedom comes with a price.

Now if anyone as been keeping up with me little, Stalking & Harassment articles as well as the Blog Article on Kenpo in Omoto-Ryu Budo you are going to get some understanding that is going to explain the current environment of martial arts in the US and in online. First off, I doubt people online train as they claim they are and have. Secondly, I'm going to explain a certain bit of modern history for you beginning with two men of questionable morals... And these two men are associated with Ashida Kim, Frank Dux, Stephen Hayes & Hatsumi either directly or indirectly...

These two men are Retired Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Robert K. Brown & Peder Lund, these men started Paladin Press in 1970. Mostly just re-publishing or re-selling old military manuals they got for free or at huge discounts and only available to most civilians second hand. Now here is where Ashida Kim comes into play because Paladin used to publish Ashida Kim's work. Now what makes this even more interesting is that you need to know it all got started...

Brown & Lund started Paladin Press in 1970
Lund buys out Brown in 1974
Brown starts Soldier of Fortune in 1975 as a Published Work for Omega Group Ltd (Limited)

Now the "Limited" in the Company name means the company has a partner who has no say in the business and only contributes financially for a return on their investment. Now Ashida Kim, by his own report, started self-publishing Book of the Ninja in 1970 and advertised it for sale outside his karate dojo in 1975 through Soldier of Fortune Magazine. It was later picked up by Paladin Press...

Now Paladin Press has had its string of criticisms because of the Hitman Case, were a manual on assassination written by "Rex Feral" a pseudonym or pen name was used in an actual murder by a James Perry, hired by one Lawrence Horn in 1993, Paladin Press's Insurance Carrier settled out of court in 1999.

In 2000 Paladin was again sued over this book. Hit Man: A Technical Manual for Independent Contractors was again allegedly used in the planning of an attempted murder by one Robbie L. Goggin of his ex-wife Bobby Wilson in 1998. Robert Jones the hired killer, stated used the book Hit Man: A Technical Manual for Independent Contractors to help him plan the murders.

But looking at not only this but the other controversies which surround the two companies... Soldier of Fortune has had a similar chain of murders for hire and wrongful death law suits.

1987 Norman Norwood sued Soldier of Fortune Magazine for injuries suffered in a murder attempt by two men, who were hired through Soldier of Fortune's "Guns for Hire" Want Ads. While court had said such publications went outside the bounds of free speech protected by the 1st Amendment in regards to Soldier of Fortune's request for summary judgement, the actual news coverage of the suit can be found here (New York Times, August 1992).

February 1985, John Wayne Hearn shot and killed Sandra Black for $10,000 from her husband Robert Black who recruited Hearn through Soldier of Fortune Magazine's "Guns for Hire" want ads. Sandra Black's mother and son both sued Soldier of Fortune Magazine & its parent company Omega Group Ltd. in 1989. Coverage available here (New York Times, February 13th  1988).

In 1989, four men were convicted of the Murder of Richard Braun, of Georgia, again hired through classified ads in Soldier of Fortune Magazine. This resulted in the suspension of the "GUNS FOR HIRE" want ads. October 15th 2000 news coverage available here.

Note: The Dates discrepancies occur due to the time and red tape of the civil court system to take matters to trial, file for discovery etc. Even in criminal cases were the time to trial is much quicker it can take a full three years or more before a case even goes to trial. Regardless that is almost 20 years of untold damage to society.

So just so we know who we are dealing with... when I say men of questionable morals... This of course, does not even cover Frank W. Dux law suit against Soldier of Fortune Magazine for slander and defamation of character. But, including Frank Dux law suit and Ashida Kim being a former author for Paladin. In fact, Ward Churchill "expose" on Robert K. Brown is quite interesting and can be found here.

The strange mix to this whole affair rests in the questionable morals of Brown & Lund, and the Ninja cult of the Bujinkan. I've many times addressed how ninjutsu is a strategic art and I've even quoted from the Bansenshukai as to such... Now that's very different to the Ninja Cult of the Bujinkan claiming a mystical secret "Higher Order" of Ninpo, a knock off of Kukishin Ryu Kenpo philosophy and Shinto ritual.

In 1986 Kirkland Peterson produced Mind of the Ninja: Experience the Inner Power. Largely this book can be broken down into thirds, 1/3 telling us about the Bujinkan and Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu, 1/3 attacking Ashida Kim and denouncing ninjutsu as anything but a spiritually enlightening system and 1/3 explaining Shinto to the reader in a rather evangelical manner. The last part is very... Pseudo-Intellectual in it's lay out.

In addition we can see from Paladin Press's own archives that Paladin did advertise for the Bujinkan back in the day as well... in their catalog  in 1985.

Since then there has been a rather, one sided bias towards the Bujinkan with those involved in Paladin Press. Let me explain, there is a certain class of bottom feeding leech that does everything they can to be the "yes man" for the bigger fish. In this case we will talk, Philip Carlton Elmore... The Martialist. Phil is quite well known for attacking Self-Publishing Authors (as if anyone really ever reads books anymore) and for bragging about his accomplishment of having been published by Paladin Press... Otherwise most of Phil's stupid rantings are self-published and not even good enough to be published in print, using the cheapest means possible PDF format.

Phil claims to represent Reality Based Self-Defense, while Don Roley claims to represent traditional martial arts and the Bujinkan specifically. This is most entertaining because well... Martial Arts forums exist to sell you on products and push authors. Many times, they are built around certain members who contribute in this way Phil Elmore who continually bashes "Koga Ryu Ninjutsu" does with the added credibility of people like Don Roley, who's primary noriety comes out of claiming all Koga Ryu Ninjutsu died with Seiko Fujita to push the Takamatsu-den lineage as the only legitimate source. By having Roley in his corner Phil Elmore gets to claim authority by proxy.

As such, Don Roley points to others like Elmore who cater to fat, lazy and slow people with delusions of being "Men of Action" collecting books from Paladin's "Action Library" to reinforce their fantasy of credibility. And we know from past articles in this series that Don Roley, Barron Shepherd and Phil Elmore all defend each other...

They spread the same lies, and while it might be a bit personal with me; because I make it a point to prove them liars & challenge their claims. You need to see the business to see the whole picture. The Bujinkan has had a good bit of business with Paladin Press, publishing various books and of course the Killshots VHS videos beginning in 1987.

So its pretty easy to see that Paladin, has been profiting at both ends of martial arts debate, they sell controversy and violence. Martial arts just happen to be about violence.

Oh sure, the martial arts crowd often talks about enlightenment and philosophical ideas but, let's assume someone isn't a 9th Dan Grandmaster and just "Joe Average." How are martial arts portrayed in movies and tv shows? As people fighting... How are martial arts portrayed in sports, any martial sport? Karate, tae kwon do, kendo, judo and MMA are all portrayed as fighting arts.

So creating controversy by spreading lies about Frank Dux, stealing money from Ashida Kim and pushing the use of Paladin Press authors to reinforce authority by proxy. Add to this Elmore's continuous jabs to try to get me to sign with Paladin Press something I turned down back in 2002. And a pattern seems to emerge...

What this comes down to is the issue of iemoto systems of control and corrupt business practices. Iemoto or Some systems were never used within martial arts until the more peaceful Tokugawa era. Generally speaking, a Soke retained control over all expressions of a art or trade within an area. Soke Hatsumi claims Soke, or full control over the art of ninjutsu. This is based primarily, on the extensive use of modern translations and a made up history by Takamatsu. However, the Bujinkan exists claiming to control ninjutsu and claiming to exert control through a greater form of knowledge called Ninpo. This is even argued against Jinichi Kawakami who represents ninjutsu with a more factual basis in regard to history. In truth Ninpo is just repackaged Kukishin Ryu Kenpo (sword law, not fist law) but that's another issue.

As such, Hatsumi and the Bujinkan try to exert control over "all ninjutsu" usually by slandering and attacking others... Think Hatsumi would never do this? Sure he did, by mentioning the infiriority of Karate, Judo & Aikido to his mystical Ninpo. Only, Westerners are impressed with the mystical ninja act. Regardless, this is reinforced with business dealings with less then ethical businesses like Omega Group publishing and it's associated companies Soldier of Fortune Magazine and Paladin Press, who don't much care for self-trained "mercenaries" hiring themselves out for possibly illegal activity (hey it will drive up Paladin Press sales), through the American branch of the Bujinkan Empire. So we have three unique companies...

Paladin Press presenting instructional material for people to train themselves and Soldier of Fortune which until 2000 was a basis for these people to hire themselves out as "Soldiers of Fortune." Other publishing companies have put out similar material, and are often long standing rival/strange bed fellows with Paladin & Omega group or not. For example, Loompanics who was a fringe publishing company was bought out by Paladin. Paladin who according to internet rumor used bloggers and online publicity "hit men" to attack Loompanics making it more profitable to sell, then to compete with Paladin & Soldier of Fortune's strategy of sell information through Paladin and offer a gateway to your fantasy of being an "action hero" through Soldier of Fortune. Even sixteen years later, Paladin still relies on Publicity "hit men" to attack their competition or harass independent authors to sign with Paladin.

The Bujinkan which offers mystical ninja fantasy with a touch of realism in that you have to amerce yourself in Japanese culture. Of course you can learn the real and authentic ninjutsu of Hatsumi who is the sole provider of the true and correct ninja path... With a home study course. Right, the Bujinkan has many dojos teaching lessons but they also have many people selling you Books, DVDs and even audio CDs for your meditation.

Regardless, in the last few years and last decade or so... This alliance has fallen apart, no longer profitable for both sides to maintain. What is left is a bitterly entrenched publicity war (one in which I only came in at the last bit when publicity whore's like Phil Elmore were trying to lap up table scraps from Paladin Press). Phil's works with Paladin such as Flashlight Fighting: How to Make Your Pocket Flashlight a Take Anywhere Self-Defense Weapon (no longer in print) that was used to secure his 15 minutes of fame and accomplishment; which was basically a whole book written around the advice to shine a light in someone's eyes and hit when they can't see... This was advice disclosed in Ashida Kim's Secrets of the Ninja and Stephen Hayes Books (I forget the title) in the 80s... but I digress.

Much of the issues from these people are secured in the foundation of making money. This does not even touch on the older issues of Martial Arts media going back to John Keehan or Count Dante's era where cross training in martial arts, breaking from tradition (Americanizing and modernizing) in Martial Arts and the Cult of Japanese superiority come into play.
