So its Thanksgiving and I have a lot to be thankful for, among them my fight with Icy Mike and the help from the Unlikely Allies from the OG.
Now I have to point out something you guys reading this blog aren't considering. Something I bet, none of you ever considered... That the MMA crowd isn't a bunch of bullies and meat heads. Oh sure they have their fair share of them and MMA is a brutal sport. So is Boxing for that matter.
However, the guys on the OG saw first hand the cyber bullying of my online stalkers and as someone over there pointed it, they behaved like a pack of predators chasing injured prey, trying to hamstring it for the kill... But, I am not dead yet.
And this is no doubt a testament to the morals and ethics of the guys on the OG. Rather then jumping at lies and rumors they offered me a chance to prove myself and, it was a chance for my own reasons which I didn't fully take. So yes... I am thankful to them. And, yes I am using them as an example of our perceptions of MMA fighters and proponents as Thugs is wrong.
Now, you will have noticed I also mentioned Indigenous Peoples Day an alternative to Columbus Day and sometimes used in place of Thanksgiving. Well I still remember the story of Thanksgiving, that the Protestant Pilgrims almost died, had it not been for the Natives who helped them live here on the East Coast. And Westard Expansion under the claim of "manifest destiny" generations later was a crime against the Natives who were already here...
Now what do those two things have in common? That it is that it easy to beat someone you perceive as weaker or, injured but something different to stand up for the "little guy."
There is a difference between the preception of reality and reality. Do the guys at MixedMartialArts.com believe my ninjutsu claims? No, and I don't require them to... Are they going to suddenly study ninjutsu now? No, I am not asking them to. The simple truth is, none of that matters. I am just thankful they were there.
We've seen the spectacles and the chaos, leaving 2017 on a higher note then when it began, as New Years fast approaches... We can't change the past, we can't predict the future and we should all be thankful for the things we can't control. Just be thankful for those people who have your back when you expect it (like me and the OG or the Pilgrims and the Indians) & becareful not to screw them over later on...
Happy Thanksgiving and Indigenous Peoples Day.

Points of View
One of the strangest aspects of being me is the craziness that is simply my life. There are many rumors about me and the truth is stranger then fiction. There are things about me, pain I have suffered and things I've done that would scare you and other things that are going to make you say what the fuck...
I am by no means a perfect person, though I could easily say I am misunderstood. See if you knew me &, very few do, you would be surprised who I am. I won't tell you who I am but, I will tell something about me.
I am a bit of a joker and, among my many, many nicknames, I've been called an adventurer and a cowboy. I love to push the envelope and test my limits. I even get a good laugh about the online martial arts community...
Don't think that when I post blogs like When You Have No Penis that I am completely serious. Oh there is some very serious aspects to it but, at the same time don't be surprised (or may be you should be) to know that I am often typing these things and getting a good laugh out of it.
See I am not the villain people claim I am, nor am an angel either. I have lied and I do lie still but, not in the ways people expect. I do things for one of three reasons because I have to, because I think it's right or because I get some enjoyment out of it.
I do get some enjoyment out of pointing out the flaws and failures of my cyber-stalkers and haters. I find it, entertaining that people who see themselves as experts like Don Roley (who I stumped with a picture of Fujita Seiko) and Barron Shepherd who backed out of 3 challenges that were all documented but wants to claim I am scared of him because I can't a physical from the VA before December 3rd. It entertains me how much effort is put into trying to slander my name and prevent me from rebuilding my business.
You see the best people I have ever met where teachers. Not just martial arts instructors but, even a few teachers who inspired me in high school. The best leaders I had in the Army were also teachers and mentors. They didn't just lead by example but, actually took the time to educate & challenge you to be better.
I loved teaching because, I as experienced life the academic studies of martial arts didn't stay something I learned but, something I lived. Many times I had to practice the zen concept of detachment because I have lost much, at one point I lost everything. Many people would either give up and become what life tries to make you become. Other people want to try to define you by what they or others want to believe. Like those I have mentioned earlier in this blog. I have had to learn to suffer the shame of such defamation & accept that have their will be thosr with own preconceive notions because of it. Do I blame them for such? Well thats a complicated answer...
You see people will never understand things unless they experience them. The experience of false accusations and seeing those who want to use them and lie about it as if what they know are lies is the truth, makes for a real interesting observation or two. Firstly, people who don't like you will try make others not like you and will use what they know are lies for that end playing them off as truth. Secondly, those who want to feel superior want do everything they can do to make others think they are superior to you. Sadly, they often feel inferior to you and want you to feel the same way. Fuck'em they don't matter...
You see one of the most interesting observations I have ever made, has come from how people project their negative traits onto others. Have you ever seen a sex offender beat up another sex offender trying to convince other sex offenders they aren't a sex offender? I have... Its pretty funny actually.
In fact, I find it so interesting that people who have so much that I don't wife, kids, great jobs and better homes are so concerned with spreading lies and defamation. You see what they hate in me is a reflection of what they hate in themselves. So much that they aren't thankful for what they have.
Don Roley's obsession with frauds is easily linked to Hatsumi's reputation in Japan. Hatsumi is only considered legitimate by Westerners who lack the ability to reseatch Japanese historical documents. Or Japanese researchers who have.
Phil Elmore's obsession with self-defense, weapons and fighting unfairly is obviously linked to being bullied and wanting to feel powerful. Much the same with Phil's lacky Patrick Ferrari. Ultimately, ots a sign of how powerless he feels.
Barron well... Barron Shepherd has issues with self-esteem which is why he is always trying to fit in, gain support and look tough. He wants respect but, doesn't realize those tokens of success belt ranks and so on mean nothing. They don't give you respectability.
Thus, the concern with fraudulent instructors. Thus the slander and lies because they project their own weaknesses on to me. Because they see those same weaknesses in me, they see in themselves. The thing is, at 36 I have outgrown them. I have lived the hardships and survived.
Unlike them, I can say "I did this..." and we've all seen it. They are quick to point out I was charged with making Terroristic Threats, and it was dismissed. We all know I have at least held a gun (which is illegal if I were a prohibited person) that I actually own, we all know I have survived incarceration surrounded by the very criminals most people fear. My life is far from normal and we all know it... It is sadly closer to a bad 80s action movie. And that is what they want, the adventure of having done something great.
The respect they think it gives them... But, do you know the respect it has gotten me? Do you know what it is like to have lies thrown in your face as if it is truth? Or to live in fear of the police who are there to allegedly protect you?
You see they are all missing a single point of reference... Experience. There is a movie called the 36 chambers of the Shaolin and in the movie the 36 chamber, where the Shaolin goes after he gets his brands is the real world. Because at some point training ends and living begins. What happens when you pass basic training in the Military (any branch of service) is that you go do your job and serve in the military. You live the military life style.
Those who use teaching and writing about martial arts for selfish motivations will never understand that at some point training ends. When Omoto Kioshi, awarded me my Godan, he told me "I have given you a gift, the gift of knowledge and what you do with that gift is up to you. " (or there abouts thats how I remember it). What happens after you become a "master" is the real question?
Nothing, you have completed training... Its a bit like being an adult, in more primitive cultures there is a "test" of manhood. Even then, once you've passed this test, then what? Even animals reach a point they drive out their young to find a place in the world. No master is so great, no guru so wise, that grown adults must wait on them with baited breath to express wisdom they cannot understand unless they experience life... Having experienced life and having outgrown the flaws they project onto me I don't hate these men. I pity them.
Ultimately, I will sue them and I will win. A few "jabs" taken with a much more lightened heart. A heart that has been lightened with the acceptance of pain and suffering is what drives me to my little jabs. You see there is no greater insult to those who project themselves onto you, then to see you win. Because ot si seeing someone with the same flaws as you surpass you.
You see freeing yourself of hatred and anger means acceptance of who you are both good and bad. It means not resenting in others the flaws you see in yourself.
Now if you want to know, why I am going to sue them. Because, 1. It is simply an obstacle to overcome (the defamation) to get what I want. This cam only be done one way realistically 2. There is a way to do this and well, it must be done via a lawsuit to have the effect I want. 3. It will destory the illusions of themselves they cling to and perhaps it might allow them to grow as it has me. Ultimately, that is something only time will tell us.
If you want respect, show it...
If you want love, give it...
If you want acceptance, accept others without conditions...
If you want enemies, attack them but don't cry when they fight back...
You see another reason for such venom from this group and others like them is fear. Yes, they are afraid of me. Not of what I can do but of what I am doing already. I am standing up to them and doing so without support. They are quick to point out Frank Dux, no longer supports me. Yet, here I stand without the Black Dragon Fighting Society and without one of our biggest names Frank Dux... Alone.
If I can do it, others can as well and we have all seen where others who aren't in the BDFS or Dux Ryu have contacted me and stood beside with stories of these people as bullies and how they have tried to disrupt their businesses as well.
You see win or lose it doesn't matter, as long as you stand up. That's what all the fuss over and fuss over the video from Lexington is other... Don Roley wants to prove I didn't stand up to him, that I "backed down." Yet, my withdrawn as a strategic decision.
Course, standing up doesn't mean walking into an obvious trap and just because you pull a tactical withdraw doesn't mean you surrender the war. Course maybe now I am the one projecting... Projecting my own intellect and deviously clever strategic mindset onto Don Roley.
But this is all my rambling on different points of view.

Stalking & Harassment 2: The Pattern of Behavior expanded
This is a Continuation of Stalking & Harassment: A Pattern of Behavior examined where I showed the intent of the "Internet Trolls" like Phil Elmore, Don Roley & Barron Shepherd to harass and stalk me. Some may not know this but these same clowns even tried to become involved in my legal cases, of which I had all charges dropped. While Phil has been careful to not go out of his way to exaggerate claims into the grounds of slander, Barron and Don Roley have not...
Regardless of me and my own agitations, it doesn't take a lot to see a pattern develop. When I first started "fighting back" online and even now people told me I was being too negative. Perhaps, but you fight back, you don't back down... Bullies are the same regardless. After Paper Tigers & Ducking Dragons 8, I received a message across facebook. Now Paper Tigers & Ducking Dragons 8 showed Trition D. Smith using the image of a former Dux Ryu student, trained under Sky Benson, defending Barron Shepherd backing out of a challenge to me. Stalking & Harassment showed how Barron was dead set on trying to entangle me in legal troubles, rather then face me directly. Quite simply put these "people" exist only to harass and defame other martial artists to push their products.
Here is one example;
This is only one example of the Harassment that someone faced, harassment they chose to protect their students from. I am in some ways lucky, part of what is claimed about me is true. I have been arrested a lot but, all but five charges were dismissed by the state without a battle in court, many times the charges were to push threats and intimidation by police officer who were themselves corrupt and criminal. So what? Some online ass clown talks trash and tries to ruin my business? Perhaps they seek to harass me into committing suicide like Dan Harmon?
Now Dan Harmon is an example of a person who was mentally ill. Dan lied and made up stories because he wanted be more then just who he was... He wanted to be respect, admired and loved. He made the mistake of thinking he needed some external source for this... He didn't.
He didn't have a teacher or the money to get a lot of training in "ninjutsu." What he developed on his own, was his own concoction from many different sources, he told stories and such. Cool... I really don't see a problem with developing your own style. The reality is it doesn't matter if you learn martial arts off YouTube or in a Dojo, it is what you do with the information that matters. Do you think a mugger cares if you stop with a self-defense technique you learn from online, a book or in school with a proven line to some ancient master?
Does it matter if the guy or gal who kicks your ass trained in his garage or in dojo? Do you know how many legitimate Karate black belts with lineage going back to Funakoshi himself, who have told me stories about fighting in Karate in Japan and they have never been out of the country? Too many... I know qualified and legitimate martial artists with made up stories of secret kumite and claims of being street fighters with no proof & just weren't the type. The type of person who is a Street Fighter is either crazy or near suicidal by the way.
I remember a story Where at a Tai Kai Event Hatsumi called a man in stage to help him demonstrate a technique and the man stated his rank was "Soke" and Hatsumi addressed him with the respect of calling him "Soke." I remember watching Ashida Kim dealing with other self-proclaimed masters who he addressed then with the same respect and often "traded ninja secrets" with them, often helping them to develop better techniques and skills. Many times looking back, I often wonder to myself if he ever did this with me... Playing the role of the "secret teacher." Dan Harmon would have no doubt fallen into this category with me and many, many others over the years. Karl Jung would have referred to this as the Wise Old Man & in some ways the Trickster. Regardless, Ashida Kim did show me a different way of looking the phrase "When the student is ready the master will appear." Masters appear to us in all ways of life and we often never know it.
Being blunt, terms like Shihan, Hanshi, Sensei and so on all sound awesome Master, Grandmaster & Teacher sounds authoritative but what do they mean? No not the dictionary meaning but context. They are ranks right? Sergeant sounds impressive but what does it mean, it is a rank right? So colored belts show rank and have titles to go along with them that context. I person ranked as a black belt in BJJ shouldn't have to prove himself or herself by breaking bricks like a Karate or Tae Kwon Do belt. Two different systems with two different ranks, its not about rank it is about the knowledge. Rank is dependent on the system involved and nothing more. So Dan Harmon invented a history and invented a rank to rank himself... Did that mean that he was to be harassed, threatened and mentally abused to the point of ending his own life?
This is an ongoing pattern of abuse, threats and intimidation designed to do one thing and one thing only... Harass people into dropping the term "Ninjutsu" so that the Bujinkan is free to sell their products alone. Dan Harmon didn't sell books or Home Study Courses like I do... He doesn't run a company like Shadow Warrior Publishing, like I do. No what Dan Harmon did was more painful to the Bujinkan bottom line... He put out free information online, he made commercials for non-existent course he was in the process of making and they looked pretty good given the low quality but still it looks remarkably like the other non-contact, non-sparring instructional videos produced by the Bujinkan.
My concern isn't what the Bujinkan is doing, I don't like what they do... So what, I don't have to. My concern wasn't that Dan Harmon had a mental illness or lied about is past. My concern is that psychological abuse in the name of a bottom line against a person with mental illnesses is akin to beating up a man in a wheelchair or (sorry for my blatant masculine bias but) beating women.
Unlike my cited friend above, I am lucky in that I don't have a school or students to protect and don't have to "nut ride" or attack others to sell products. In fact, I am simple... I hate bullies. Anyone who knew me in grade school will tell you I was often fighting bigger kids, not to protect myself but to protect other kids. Someone, who said many of my posts seem negative dealing with this drama and BS asked me how I would convince parents that I was qualified to teach their kids to warriors and, I will end this blog with that answer...
I don't want to teach anyone's kids, my own if I had any, to be warriors. Teaching children to be warriors is akin to raising child soldiers. I will teach kids to be fighters but not warriors. Being a warrior is not about how brave you are or how strong you are. Its not about your tradition or system. Being a warrior is about one thing, the belief that you have to stand up for those who can't. Sure this crap is negative and it is something I rather not be typing about or people I don't want to deal with... However, I'm taking it upon myself to do so. Not because of being a warrior or any martial arts stuff I learned, not because I am defending my business. I'm dealing with this because I am worried about the next person driven to suicide by mental illness and the harassment of so called Martial Arts Instructors.
What happens when the next person to be driven to that point is a teenage kid with ninja fantasies to escape abuse and violence at him? Rather then having someone ease them into real world and helping them to better themselves they just get pushed further by so called fraud busters online. So if being a Warrior means, standing up for those who cannot themselves stand up... I guess I'm warrior but like many things in my life, I'm not the best man for the job, I'm the guy who showed up cause their was no one else... I'm not a warrior, I am just that guy.
Update: 4/18/2016
After speaking with someone about what happened to Don Harmon, I decided to "go back in time" to an earlier blog about this same issue... Fake Koga Ryu Ninjutsu & The Events Leading to Dan Harmon's Death. In that blog I posted three images, two dealing with the statement's of another martial arts group on facebook talking about those who harassed Dan Harmon and pushed him too far.
It is plain to see that these alleged instructors and martial artists are nothing more then corrupt businessmen. Frauds and cowards devoted to harassing anyone who might be competition for them, even if they are fakes and frauds... Even now I have gotten several anonymous text message from 1-916-216-9579, each message contains insults, threats and in some cases images trying to insult me or make me feel bad about myself... May be they just want to make me mad, sitting behind their computer screens laughing at how they've "pissed me off."
I've fought through more then cowards like you all could ever deal with and I doubt any of you are strong enough to face the same challenges I have overcome. Its very sad and pathetic, this is the very best in mental abuse these cowards can offer...
Really all you did is a get chuckle out of me,.. LMFAO WTF are you trying to do..?

Interview with Grandmaster Jay "Flying Tiger" Blanton
Note to Reader: This is an interview conducted over e-mail I wish I could have gotten more involved but do to time constraints for all this stuff have going on I had to cut this short.
Ok today we are going to interview grandmaster Jay Blanton. Right off the bat I'd like to congratulate you on you life story becoming a movie. So to start of with I would like to begin there.
Can you tell me about what got you into martial arts?
Hey Ron I am honored to be interviewed and thanks for your kind words. I got into the martial arts because of being bullied because of my speech problem and as a child I watch all the Bruce Lee and kung fu movies and being bullied I thought if I can do what Bruce Lee does these people will leave me along. Going through grade school I met a friend in Tae Kwon Do and he took up for me against the bullies and basically protected me against their physical abuse. He told me I need to take a martial arts class. I told my parents but we did not have the money to afford the classes at that time. So when I got into Jr. high school again a friend who was taking Tae Kwon Do and teaching it at our local community center told me i needed to get into the martial arts and it would help me against all the physical abuse I was going through. He said I only charge you $ 5.00 a month I signed up along with my other friends and the rest is history.
Having been bullied yourself, you started the BDFS Anti-Bully program what can you tell us about the program?
I started the BDFS Anti-Bullying Program to be more than just a bunch of martial arts techniques like most martial arts schools have. I wanted a unique training program not only show how to defend yourself against bullies but to educate the student and everybody what bullying is. We have a Instructor's Manual to help anybody not just martial artist to understand what bullying and how to avoid it at all possible and how to teach this to others. We also have a Student's Manuel so the students or anybody can understand and get educated on bullying it is like a school or college course it has everything in it the Instructor is teaching you. And we test the Instructor's of the BDFS Anti-Bullying Program as well so they are Certified to teach our unique program.
Now in October in Chicago you are going to demonstrate an "anti-bully" kata, can you shed a bit of light on that?
We have came up with a Level 2 Instructor's BDFS Anti-Bullying Program Certification with the help from Gm Ashida Kim and Gm David Harris we are working on a "new" book and a manual for this program and Gm Harris will be helping me on a phone app and dvd and Instructor Certification in the future for the program. We will introduce this new Level 2 program in Chicago and the Kung Fu technique is called "Shen" which will address the psychological part of bullying and the technique will help everybody who is or has been bullied as well clear their minds from all the mental trauma they have suffered a unique and easy technique to learn and anybody can do it.
You've met some very influential people in the martial arts too haven't you, so martial arts has really changed your life for the better?
Yes I have meet so many wonderful martial artist and had the pleasure of training with them not enough room here to name them all so I will mention a few Gm Richard Hedrick he guided me so much in my martial arts career with all his different styles and varies Instructors at his school, Gm Kang Rhee the Instructor of Elvis Presley, Bill "Superfoot" Wallace and he even trained with Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris, Gm Rhee name my system of martial arts "Mang Ho" which is Tiger in Korean which is the animal nickname he gave me. Since I had combined all my other styles into my system he told me that you have done like Bruce Lee you have created you own unique style. I call it a system because I continue to add to Mang Ho Ryu which I call it now.
Gm Donald Miskel my dear friend and brother I call him my family we talk on a regular base and Gm Ashida Kim again part of my family who has helped me so much not only re-doing my book but helping me with the BDFS Anti-Bullying Program Manuals. Gm David Harris again family who is helping me and teaching me "Shen" and other private things going on. And then Hanshi Frank Dux what can I say not enough room for what he has done for me again family. He has trained me in Dux Ryu, got my book and the BDFS Anti-Bullying Program in Mexico, presented me with the Dux Ryu Fellowship Award and allowed me in the Dux Ryu Circle Of Iron and named me Flying Tiger because of all the things in my life I overcame. And all the Dux Ryu patches on my uniform and my most honored one my Flying Tiger patch my personal patch in Dux Ryu I could go on. I now go by Gm Flying Tiger
Any advice for parents looking to enroll their kids in a martial arts program?
My advise to parents is to Please sign your kids up in a good martial arts program it will help them the rest of their life, check out the school and Instructor(s) before you jump into a martial arts school. Ask questions, take the free class, talk with other parents etc check out other martial arts schools in the area and ask your child how he likes the Instructor(s) and the class etc. It's the best thing you can ever do.
Does religion or spirituality play a big part of your outlook?
Yes. Religion is a big part of my life being a born again Christian has helped me forgive all those people that have bullied me all my life from physical abuse, mental abuse and even into adulthood on the job. I could easily have beaten the snot out of those people and the people on the job but through all my martial arts training and my spirituality I didn't. Martial arts teaches us not to use what we have learned to hurt others or bully them but to only use it if we have to defend ourselves. I have walked away from many attacks and let it go rather than to hurt some one, which I knew I could easily do and being a Christian I have to to this as well.
So how is the Film project coming along &, thank you for taking the time out your busy schedule for this interview?
The movie is coming along Gene Michaels of Show Biz Productions is writing the screen play along with my help I will keep everybody updated on the progress I know this movie will help all understand bullying and when you bully some one it last a life time.
Thank you Ron for interviewing me it was my honor to share my thoughts with everyone God bless Gm Flying Tiger
